Sep 16, 2021

Young Islanders are encouraged to get their Covid-19 vaccine as the Rock Up clinics end tomorrow. 45% of Islanders aged 16-17 have already received their first dose.

Rock Up clinics are taking place between 3-5pm this week at:

  • Highlands College on Thursday 16 September
  • Royal Square on Friday 17 September

Other key vaccination statistics as at Sunday 12 September:

  • 86% of over 16s have received at least one dose
  • 67% of those aged 18-29 have received at least one dose
  • 84% over 18s have received two doses
  • 76, 818 first doses have been administered
  • 73, 561 second doses have been administered

Head of the Vaccination Programme, Becky Sherrington, said: “I’d like to thank everyone, particularly young Islanders, that have come forward for their first dose at one of the Rock Up clinics or Vaccination Centre this week. Islanders are welcome to ‘rock up’ with their friends or simply come along to ask our medical staff any questions they may have. The last Rock Up clinic will be taking place tomorrow afternoon, Friday 17 September, in the Royal Square. After Friday, people will need to go to the Vaccination Centre to be vaccinated.

“We celebrated a significant milestone this week, having administered more than 150,000 doses, but as always I continue to urge eligible Islanders to walk in for a vaccine or book an appointment so that they can protect themselves and others against COVID-19.”

Islanders can book an appointment or check the Vaccination Centre opening hours on www.gov.je/coronavirus/vaccine or by calling the helpline on 0800 735 5566.

Those who are coming forward for their second dose without an appointment must ensure four weeks or more have passed since their first dose was administered.
