Jersey will be holding ‘Ukraine Week’ 21st-27th August – a week-long fundraising initiative that has been organised to coincide with the war-torn country’s National Day on August 24th.
As part of the week of fundraising events, which include a black-tie dinner, a giant ‘living Ukraine flag’ photo, an auction and pop-up stalls selling Ukrainian foods, fashion and art, businesses and organisations are also being asked to support a Blue and Yellow (dress down) Day to take place on 24th August. We would be delighted if you and your team would take part in this initiative, which it is hoped will raise money for the appeal while also showing solidarity with the people of Ukraine who have been so horrifically impacted by the war. Our goal is to see all of St Helier out in colours at lunchtime on the 24th August. Please let us know if you are interested in taking part. All money raised throughout the week, and from Blue and Yellow Day, will be donated to the Bailiff’s Ukraine Appeal through THE charity Side by Side. It will then be distributed to vetted humanitarian relief organisations operating inside Ukraine by Jersey Overseas Aid.
