Passport and Work Permit Fee Increase

Sep 02, 2019

Jersey Customs and Immigration Services (JCIS) have announced that, for the first time in ten years, passport fees will increase.

The Minister for Home Affairs, Constable Len Norman, has approved an increase to passport fees and non-EEA work permits, to be effective from 1 October 2019.

The Minister, Len Norman said: “These increases are to ensure Jersey’s service fees align with the other Crown Dependencies and the UK and will ensure passport applicants contribute towards the increasing costs of passport services. The implementation of new systems and passport security features means costs of service provision have risen higher than last assessed in 2009.”

A standard adult passport will cost £85 and a standard child passport will cost £58.50.

The Jersey version of a British passport is issued by the Jersey Passport Office on behalf of the Crown and is printed and delivered from the UK. Customers issued with the Jersey version of British passports, benefit from identical services to that of any other British passport holder. The Jersey Passport Office offers an Express Service to customers for the processing of passports within eight working days, which is akin to the UK Fast Track Service.

The Minister has also approved an increase in fees for the Express Service, effective from 1 October 2019. A standard adult passport will cost £142 and a standard child passport will cost £122.

The Minister has also approved a small increase for work permit fees which are issued to employers for the employment of non-EEA workers. The fees have not increased since January 2015 and the following fee structure will come into force on 1st October 2019:
