CI Pride Community Fundraising Launch

Channel Islands Pride launches first-ever community funding campaign

Channel Islands Pride is launching its first-ever community fundraising campaign for this year’s event on Sunday 21 August.

Since Channel Islands Pride was launched in 2017, it has grown into the biggest free event in the Island’s social calendar, attracting locals, families and visitors to the Island.

To keep Pride free for everyone, the organisers have always worked with corporate sponsors. This year – for the first time - they’re also inviting smaller businesses and individuals to support the event.

Christian May, Director of Channel Islands Pride, explains: “Channel Islands Pride has – and always will be – by the community, and for the community. While it’s a lot of fun, it’s fundamentally an event that highlights the struggles that the Island’s LGBTQIA+ and other minority communities continue to face.

“That’s why we’ve always worked hard to keep the event free: it means that anyone who wants to be part of Pride can attend, whoever they are, and whatever their financial situation might be.”

“While we’re grateful for the support of our large corporate sponsors, we know there are lots of smaller organisations and community groups who might want to support the event, but need to do so on terms that suit them.

“I’m pleased that for the first time, we can give these groups the chance to get involved in this landmark event.”

There are two ways to support Channel Island Pride:

  • Smaller businesses can sign up to become Friends of Pride. Sponsorship packages are available at three different levels of support, depending on the size and scale of your business.
  • Individuals and groups can donate directly through the Channel Islands Pride website, and provide whatever level support is right for them.

Friends of Pride will be featured on the Channel Islands Pride website. On the day they’ll be thanked in the livestream broadcast, and across social media posts. They’ll also receive an exclusive, limited edition window sticker to show their support for Pride.
