Islanders are being invited to join a new Health and Community Services Patient and User public engagement panel to help shape the future of the department and offer feedback on its services and standards.

The membership will be made up of former and current users of HCS services, as well as other members of the public, who will work in partnership with HCS to help improve patient and users’ experience in a more interactive way.

Through a quarterly meeting and also online, Islanders will be invited to give constructive and meaningful feedback to the department, contribute ideas and make suggestions across a range of subjects.

Health Minister Deputy Karen Wilson said: “The launch of the Patient and User public engagement panel is the first in a series of new and exciting ways to engage Islanders in the work of the department.

“Listening to patients and engaging the wider public is central to my vision for a more inclusive and responsive health and social care service.

“Actively listening to people and hearing their experiences will help us shape and improve services for the better and is critical to informing the delivery of care and services thatIslanders want to see.”

Although there is no service time limit set for Panel members, they are requested to commit for at least a year.

Membership will also be rolling, with new members allowed to join at any time.

To qualify, Members should be:
