• Autumn Booster and third dose offer to be withdrawn
• Further rock-up clinics
• First and second doses will remain available
Islanders who are eligible for the COVID-19 Autumn Booster are encouraged to get their vaccine, as the programme comes to an end on Saturday 4 March. This follows the Government’s consideration of advice issued by the Joint Committee for Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI).
The JCVI also recommended that the 2021 booster offer (third dose) for people aged 16 to 49 years who are not in a clinical risk group should close in alignment with the Autumn booster. Therefore, the offer of this dose will be withdrawn at the same time.
Islanders will still be able to receive both their first and second doses of the vaccine at Fort Regent, to protect themselves and others against COVID-19.
To date, 59% of eligible Islanders have received the Autumn Booster. Those who are eligible include those:
• aged 50 and over
• in a clinical risk group (aged 5 and over), including pregnant women
• who are household contacts of immunosuppressed individuals (age 5 and over)
• who are registered carers (age 16 and over)
• who are health and social care workers
• who are residents and staff working in care homes for older adults
Islanders who are not up to date with their COVID-19 or flu vaccinations can book an appointment, attend Fort Regent without an appointment, or visit one of the rock-up clinics listed below.

Director of Public Health, Professor Peter Bradley, said: “Vaccination protects you against severe disease and hospitalisation. I urge those who are eligible and haven’t yet taken advantage of either the Autumn Booster or the third vaccine dose, to book an appointment or attend a rock-up clinic. It’s important to ensure you are given the best protection against COVID-19.
“It’s not too late to get your first and second doses if you haven’t already done so. Details of any further spring or autumn booster programmes will be provided in due course.”
