Islanders aged 25-29 years old will be able to book their COVID-19 vaccine appointments from Friday 4 June. Appointments will start on Saturday 5 June.
The latest statistics as at Sunday 30 May revealed that over 90% of Islanders aged over 50-years old and those in at-risk groups are fully vaccinated (had two doses). Anyone in these groups who has not yet been vaccinated is still able to book an appointment.

- 87% of over 35-year olds have had one dose
- 70% of over 18-year olds have had one dose
- 55% of over 18-year olds are fully vaccinated
- 47% of 30-34-year olds have had one dose
- 60% of 35-39-year olds have had one dose
- 73% of 40-44-year olds have had one dose
- 51% of 45-49-year olds are fully vaccinated
- 80% of 50-54-year olds are fully vaccinated
- 90% of 55-59-year olds are fully vaccinated
- 94% of 60-64-year olds are fully vaccinated
- 81% of clinically extremely vulnerable (high risk) 16-69-year olds are fully vaccinated
- 108, 577 total doses have been administered
Operations Lead for the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme, Ross Barnes, said: I am pleased that 25-29-year olds will be able to get their first dose from this weekend and 18-24-year olds in the next two weeks. We have had an excellent uptake from Islanders in their 30s and over, so it is important to keep this up to maximise protection for our community.
“In line with the Joint Committee for Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) guidance, we are offering the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines for first doses unless there is a medical requirement for an alternative. The Vaccination Programme remains on track to have all adults fully vaccinated (two doses) by mid-August.”
Deputy Medical Officer of Health, Dr Ivan Muscat, said: “It is important that young people get vaccinated as soon as they are able to. We are seeing young people in the UK impacted by the B1.617.2 (Delta) variant, which was originally noted in India, and then spreading it to older family members and contacts. Additionally, those younger than 50-years old are at greater risk of Long Covid. Therefore, by getting vaccinated, Islanders are affording themselves and the wider community important protection.
“Over half of adult Islanders are now fully vaccinated so it is great to see the Vaccination Programme making such good progress in protecting the Island.”
