Yesterday evening, in their first joint visit to the UK, Jersey’s Treasury and Resources Minister, Deputy Ian Gorst, and Jersey’s External Relations Minister, Deputy Philip Ozouf, represented the Island at Jersey Finance’s Parliamentary Reception in the House of Commons.

Deputy Ozouf said: “The event was part of the ongoing and longstanding engagement with Members of the UK Parliament from both the House of Lords and the House of Commons and across all parties to maintain and strengthen good relations. The aim is to raise awareness the positive and mutually beneficial relationship between the United Kingdom and Jersey.”

Deputy Gorst, who has responsibility for Financial Services, said: “Jersey’s financial services sector makes a substantial contribution in supporting trade and investment into the UK and internationally. Our role as a centre for international financing, industry expertise and sound regulation continues to play its part in the close relations we enjoy with the UK and our partners around the world”.
