Second Interim Report on the Sustainable Transport Policy

Dec 22, 2021

The Government have published their second interim report on the Sustainable Transport Policy. The report focuses on one of the Government’s top climate emergency priorities - tackling transport.

The report provides an update on what has been delivered throughout 2021 against the Sustainable Transport Policy, including details of our island cycling and walking network and plans around renewable diesel trials. The report also includes a piece of work to help us better understand the reasons why some people choose to travel by bus whilst others don’t

In addition, the report highlights some of the key deliverables for 2022 including a commitment to publishing a Sustainable Transport Roadmap which will:

  • Pull together evidence from the rapid plans
  • Describe a long-term roadmap of sustainable transport for the Island
  • Identify new funding streams to support investment in sustainable infrastructure
  • Provide a clear programme of delivery linked to the identification of funding streams and revenue generation from disincentivising private car use.

The following reports have also been released alongside the publication of this report.
