Gillian Martindale-Parsons has replaced the former CEO James Morris and will head up the island’s Chamber of Commerce.
In her new post, Gillian will be responsible for ensuring the island's government is kept abreast of the needs of Jersey’s business community, maintaining and growing membership, as well as managing the local office and Executive Team.
Gillian joins the Jersey Chamber of Commerce having co-owned and helped to manage a number of media companies in the island, and spent six years working as a reporter and political correspondent for both the BBC and ITV locally.
Her new appointment marks a restructure within the Chambers Executive Team, President of the Jersey Chamber of Commerce, Kristina Le Feuvre said: “We are fortunate to have someone of Gillian’s calibre and expertise join the team. Her knowledge of local government and understanding of the business environment in Jersey will ensure the island's business community is a priority for government”.
Commenting on her appointment, Mrs Martindale-Parsons said: “I’m delighted to have joined the Jersey Chamber of Commerce. The work of Chamber is vitally important in terms of providing all business sectors in Jersey with a strong voice in which to lobby government. I’m very much looking forward to getting involved with the island's business community and raising their concerns with the government.”
A priority for Gillian is to promote an open door policy at the Chamber offices on Pier Road, so if members have any issues they would like to raise, or non-members would like to learn more about the benefits of joining the Jersey Chamber of Commerce, then either call into the office or telephone at any time.
