Skills Jersey Launches Online Course Finder

Wednesday 4 June 08:08

A new online tool is available from today to help islanders find work-related training courses. Skills Jersey’s website has been enhanced by the creation of an online ‘Course Finder’ which brings together details of over 900 courses, qualifications and workshops offered by training providers operating in Jersey.

Islanders can take advantage of the Course Finder’s keyword search facility to view details of all training available in an area of particular interest, or can choose to browse through details of the courses offered by specific training providers. Every course record within the Course Finder includes a link to the relevant training provider’s website, so users can confirm costs, dates and book the course of their choice.

Skills Jersey’s Course Finder has been created in conjunction with Betley Whitehorne Image (BWI) and completes the second phase of Skills Jersey’s website development, following the launch of www.skills.je in 2013.

Introducing the Course Finder, David Witherington, Chairman of the Jersey Skills Board explained that, "Improving the skills of the local workforce is a key aim of the Skills Strategy and the Skills Board. Our website contains a wealth of information and the Course Finder is a user-friendly facility which we hope will assist a wide spectrum of Islanders to access training that will meet their needs and aspirations.”

Any training providers who are not yet represented in the Course Finder can contact Skills Jersey to arrange for their courses to be added free of charge.
