International Parliamentary Conference on National Security and Cybersecurity

Senator Philip Ozouf and Deputy Scott Wickenden participate in a major International Parliamentary Conference on National Security from 27 - 31 March in London.

Senator Philip Ozouf and Deputy Scott Wickenden and parliamentarians from up to 40 other jurisdictions are developing their expertise on defence and security strategies to protect citizens from the growing threats of terrorism and cybercrime. The Conference is exploring a wide range of issues relevant to Jersey including “Cybersecurity: privacy vs protection?”

Hosted by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association UK Branch (CPA UK), on behalf of the UK Parliament, the conference brings together over 90 international parliamentarians to improve their national security and cybersecurity capabilities.

Deputy Wickenden, who has ministerial responsibility for e-gov, said: “This important Commonwealth conference enables us to share experience and good practice with parliamentarians from other places as we develop Jersey’s cybersecurity strategy.”
