JOB DESCRIPTION 

Job Title:  Digital Communications, Business Development & Events Co-ordinator

Organisation:  Jersey Chamber of Commerce

Reports to:  Senior Executive Manager

Hours: Part time

Salary: Dependant on Experience

Job Purpose:

Chamber is seeking to recruit an individual who has proven experience in digital marketing and communications, business development and event management, to ensure that Chamber adheres to the business plan to grow and retain membership and increase revenue. 

The range of responsibilities will demand a post holder who can provide comprehensive support to Chamber, contribute where appropriate to administration support, growth opportunities, event organising and creating a communication strategy fit for the 21st century.

This range of responsibilities will demand a postholder who can work using their own initiative, have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), be resilient and have a hands-on approach to the work of Chamber, as the office although small, is extremely busy and the work is varied and often time critical. 

Principal Accountabilities:

Marketing, Communication & Business Development:

Plan and execute social media and marketing campaigns;
Measure and report performance of all digital communication campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs);
Assist with the maintenance of the Chamber of Commerce website
Assist with business development leads and targets for new members
Event growth strategies, researching markets to identify opportunities for new events
Research and implement CRM strategy
Monitor press coverage and identify opportunities

Event Management:

Full administration of event co-ordination, from venues, invitations, booking process with external ticketing company and income
Secure and book suitable venues
Ensure insurance, legal, health and safety obligations are adhered to
Coordinating venue management, caterers, stand designers, contractors, sponsors, speakers and equipment hire
Promote and sell Chamber of Commerce sponsorship opportunities /seats/tables to potential members and non-members alike
Coordinating suppliers, handling client queries and troubleshooting on the day of the event to ensure that all runs smoothly

Administrative Duties:

Assist Executive Officer with key day-to-day administration duties, such as meeting room management, correspondence, visitor & member enquiries and committee meeting preparation.

This job description is non-contractual and Chamber reserves the right to review, revise, amend or replace the content of this job description from time to time to reflect the changing needs of Chamber.  

Requirements:

Proven working experience in digital marketing, communications, social media and business development
Experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns
Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail;
Project management experience;
Time-management skills and the ability to work under pressure;
Problem-solving skills and diplomacy;
Strong communication, teamwork and negotiation skills;
Working hours can be fairly regular between projects but may involve additional and unsocial working hours depending on the nature of the event.
