C5 Alliance Finalists for Award at the 2016 Channel Islands Equality and Diversity Awards

Friday 2 September 11:44

C5 Alliance has been announced as a finalist for the Best Medium to Large Employer award at the Liberate 2016 Channel Islands Equality and Diversity Awards for their work designing and implementing an interactive and bespoke eLearning portal on the subject of discrimination.

Members of staff can use the training portal to learn about Jersey’s discrimination law and best practice. With interactive quiz content throughout the portal, the system is designed to be both engaging to staff and informative to the HR Department. C5 designed the system for staff to ensure that they are aware of how their actions could impact others as well as to recognise certain behaviours towards them. Discrimination law is a new aspect to both social and working life in the Channel Islands, and C5 wanted to make it interesting and easy to understand. The company aim to build on the portal each year so that staff continue to have access to up-to-date training and information based on the latest legislation.

It is hoped that the wider local business community will be able to adopt and use the portal for their own discrimination training purposes in the future.

The winner of the Best Medium to Large Employer award will be announced at a black tie ceremony at the Pomme d’Or hotel on Friday 16th September.

Mark Loane, CEO of C5 Alliance, commented:

“I’m thrilled that our work to better educate staff about discrimination in the workplace has been recognised by Liberate. C5 has always been committed to being a fully collaborative place of work, against discrimination and the new eLearning portal supports this aspect of our company culture while reflecting our core aim: to use technology for positive impact. I look forward to the benefits of this system being implemented by other local businesses across all sectors in the future.”
