Eco-Active is open for Business

 

ECO-ACTIVE BUSINESS is the newest member of the ECO-ACTIVE family, launched on February 28th 2008, at the Jersey Enterprise Awards by Senator Phillip Ozouf, Minster for Economic Development.

The scheme provides a simple framework for all businesses and organisations in Jersey, no matter how large or small, to make real improvements in environmental performance.

Environmentally responsible business is good business and by committing to the scheme the benefits are threefold:

Firstly, the environment benefits since the impacts of that organisation will be lessened and environmental improvements will be made;

Secondly, that organisation benefits because it can expect to see an improvement to the ‘bottom line’ with resources being used more efficiently and effectively;

Thirdly, the customer benefits as they will have a meaningful way to judge the environmental reputation and actions of their service provider.

Based on UK best practice, the locally tailored scheme provides advice and support on a range of environmental issues.  It also provides up to date information on legal responsibilities on environmental issues, practical ideas for action and also contacts for further help and advice.

The scheme has been developed in partnership by the States of Jersey Environment and Economic Development Departments, with generous practical and financial support from Standard Chartered and the Gerard le Claire Environmental Trust.
