  • What are the benefits of Jersey Development Company and the International Finance Centre? - Lee Henry, MD, Jersey Development Company In 2010 the States of Jersey debated and agreed to establish Jersey Development Company (JDC) to replace the Waterfront Enterprise Board. The main changes in operation were enabling the Company to: i) undertake property development directly, and ii) carry out the redevelopment of redundant States owned assets outside of the Waterfront area. By undertaking property development directly, not only will the States (and Jersey’s taxpayers) receive a greater financial return, they also have greater control over what gets delivered and when. JDC must generate a profit, however profit maximisation is not our primary focus and the Company is committed to delivering quality, well-designed products that will stand the test of time and that balance private commercial space and civic space.
