CiTD - Handling Difficult Conversations and Managing Conflict : Thursday 6 April

Ideally suited to those who are expected to handle difficult staff matters and want to feel more confident and informed before doing so.


By the end of the day, delegates will:

  • Explore ways of understanding conflict
  • Consider the causes of conflict in the workplace
  • Agree what constitutes a conflict in the workplace
  • Become familiar with the conflict cycle
  • Identify early indicators of possible conflict
  • Recognise the positive aspects as well as the risks of conflict
  • Develop strategies for resolving conflict
  • Use case studies to adopt a structured approach to handling conflict
  • Presenting Win/Win
  • Agree a personal action plan


The day is structured so that delegates increase their confidence in identifying and resolving conflict.  There will be plenty of opportunity to work individually and participate in group discussion/ activities. Emphasis is on taking away useful tools and techniques that can be readily applied in the workplace.
