Profile

Chamber is the largest employer representative body in the Island, a vibrant association of members from all business sectors who are dedicated to the promotion of trade, commerce and the general prosperity of Jersey.

Chamber is completely self funded by its membership, quite autonomous of Government and are able to express an independent view.

Chamber pursues matters on behalf of its membership at a high level with local Government and all new or proposed legislation is monitored to ensure that members’ interests are represented. We also adopt a proactive stance on key issues, providing recommendations to senior politicians and States’ departments in a pragmatic and constructive way.

Two hundred and forty years ago when The Jersey Chamber of Commerce was formed, its members were principally ship owners. Now there is a different and much wider range of businesses amongst over 500 members. With membership open to a wide range of organisations and individuals, there is an increasing realisation of the wide range of benefits for those in every sector of the business community.
